PSG Set Up Champions League Final Clash with Arsenal

Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the Champions League final against Arsenal after a 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich secured a 6-5 aggregate victory.

Luis Enrique’s side showed maturity and control in Germany, stifling Bayern’s attack despite an early scare when Ousmane Dembélé struck inside three minutes from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s cross.

Bayern’s brightest spark came through Michael Olise in the first half, while Harry Kane’s stoppage-time goal was little more than consolation.

There was controversy before the break as Bayern argued Nuno Mendes should have been sent off for deliberate handball while already on a booking, but referee João Pinheiro instead penalised Konrad Laimer for a questionable infringement.

Despite trailing by two goals on aggregate at half-time, Bayern never looked likely to mount a comeback.

For Bayern, who had scored at least three times in each of their last six home games, Vincent Kompany’s treble hopes ended abruptly. PSG now march on to Budapest, where they will face Arsenal on May 30 in what promises to be a blockbuster Champions League final.
