Maikaba Named Flying Eagles Coach, Uwejamomere Takes Golden Eaglets

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed the appointments of Abdu Maikaba and Eboboritse Uwejamomere as head coaches of the country’s U20 and U17 boys’ national teams.

The decision was ratified by the Federation’s Executive Committee following recommendations from its Technical and Development Committee.

Maikaba, a seasoned tactician with a rich coaching résumé, will take charge of the Flying Eagles (U20).

He previously served as assistant coach of the team under Paul Aigbogun and also managed the Golden Eaglets (U17) in the past.

His club career includes stints with Enyimba FC, Wikki Tourists, Kano Pillars, and Plateau United, and he famously guided Akwa United FC to victory in the 2017 President Federation Cup.

Uwejamomere, meanwhile, has been appointed to lead the Golden Eaglets (U17), five-time world champions.

He brings extensive experience from his role as coach-analyst with the Super Eagles and the Super Falcons, as well as youth development work in England with Millwall FC, Gillingham FC, and Nottingham Forest FC.

Currently head of academy at Sporting Lagos FC, Uwejamomere also previously managed Stormers FC in Abeokuta.
