‘Come On You Irons’: Guardiola Calls on West Ham to Halt Arsenal

Pep Guardiola has made a playful but pointed plea in the Premier League title race, urging West Ham United to help Manchester City by taking points off leaders Arsenal.

After City’s 3-0 win over Brentford at the Etihad, with goals from Jérémy Doku, Erling Haaland, and Omar Marmoush, Guardiola ended his press conference by crossing his arms in the style of West Ham fans and shouting: ‘Come on you Irons!’

The victory cut Arsenal’s lead at the top to two points, but with the Gunners visiting West Ham on Sunday, Guardiola knows City’s fate depends on their rivals slipping.

‘It’s not in our hands now so it depends on them dropping points. I love it. I love to be here [in the title race] again,’ he said.

City’s remaining fixtures are against Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, and Aston Villa, while Arsenal face West Ham, Burnley, and Palace.

Guardiola admitted the calendar is demanding but insisted his side will fight until the end: ‘It’s just two weeks and the season will be over.’
