Ola Aina Ruled Out of Manchester United Premier League Clash

Nottingham Forest manager Vitor Pereira has confirmed that Ola Aina will miss Saturday’s Premier League clash against Manchester United, extending the Nigerian defender’s injury woes this season.

Forest secured their top-flight status with a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United on May 10, but Aina was not included in the squad, having failed to recover from the injury sustained during the Europa League semi-final first leg against Aston Villa.

The Chelsea academy graduate was forced off in the 75th minute of that tie and has now missed four consecutive matches across all competitions.

Speaking at Thursday’s pre-match press conference, Pereira provided an update on his squad’s fitness: ‘Murillo is out, Aina is out. At this moment, I think Dan Ndoye, Morgan and Sangaré will be training tomorrow. They are all improving but I think it’s not the time to take risks. We’ll see, it’s with the medical department now,’ he told reporters via Forest’s official webpage.

Aina’s absence against United means he is set to miss his 19th Premier League game of the season, underlining a campaign disrupted by injuries.

The Super Eagles star was sidelined for much of the first half of the season after sustaining a hamstring problem while on international duty in a 2026 World Cup qualifier against South Africa.

He returned strongly, featuring in 15 consecutive Premier League matches, but his latest setback has once again halted his momentum. With three years left on his Forest contract, the club will hope the versatile right-back can recover fully and return to consistent form next season.
