Super Lig Golden Boot: Advantage Onuachu Despite Goal Drought

The battle for the Golden Boot in the Trendyol Süper Lig 2025/26 season has reached a thrilling climax, with Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu holding the advantage as the curtain prepares to fall on the campaign.

Onuachu, who has scored 22 goals in 29 appearances for Trabzonspor, needs just one more strike to secure the top scorer title in his second season in Turkey.

However, the towering forward has not found the net in his last four matches, with his most recent goal coming on April 4 in a 2-1 victory over Galatasaray.

His closest challenger, Eldor Shomurodov of İstanbul Başakşehir, drew level on Saturday after scoring in his side’s 2-1 win, bringing his tally to 22 goals in 34 appearances. The Uzbek forward’s late surge has set up a dramatic final-day showdown.

Onuachu, playing a day later, now has the final opportunity to move ahead and succeed compatriot Victor Osimhen as the Süper Lig’s top scorer.

Osimhen, who finished last season as Golden Boot winner, has 15 goals this term for Galatasaray.

Further down the chart, Anderson Talisca of Fenerbahçe remains an outside contender with 19 goals. He would need a hat-trick against Eyüpspor on Sunday to join Onuachu and Shomurodov in the race.

Other notable scorers include Mohamed Bayo (Gaziantep FK, 15 goals), Mauro Icardi (Galatasaray, 14 goals), and Felipe Augusto (Trabzonspor, 13 goals).

With the season’s final whistle imminent, all eyes will be on Onuachu to see if he can rediscover his scoring touch and claim the crown, outrightly.
