Trabzonspor Rejects Saudi Offer for Onuachu
Trabzonspor president Ertuğrul Doğan has firmly rejected a lucrative transfer bid from Saudi Arabia for star striker Paul Onuachu, despite the offer reportedly reaching €11 million.
According to reports in Sabah, the Saudi club’s proposal was swiftly dismissed, with Doğan insisting that the figure did not reflect the true value of the Nigerian forward. He emphasized that the player would only be considered for sale if an ‘astronomical’ offer arrived.
Onuachu, who initially joined Trabzonspor on loan before signing permanently last season for €5.67 million, has become a key figure for the burgundy-blue side.
In the 2025/26 campaign, he featured in 36 matches, scoring 26 goals and providing two assists, a return that has made him indispensable to the team’s ambitions.
Rejecting the Saudi bid means Trabzonspor would miss out on nearly doubling their investment, but Doğan’s stance underscores the club’s determination to retain its attacking talisman.
Meanwhile, Trabzonspor has already strengthened its squad ahead of the new Super League season, announcing the signings of Ernest Muçi, Sidny Lopes Cabral, and Ruslan Malinovskyi.
The decision to keep Onuachu signals the club’s intent to compete strongly in the upcoming campaign, prioritizing sporting success over immediate financial gain.
