‘I Am Doing Well and Home with My Family’: Eriksen Issues Statement After On-Field Collapse

Denmark international Christian Eriksen has issued a statement following his sudden collapse during the national team’s friendly match against Ukraine.
The match was suspended after Eriksen fainted on the pitch, prompting immediate medical intervention.
In a message shared on social media, Eriksen reassured fans and the football community about his condition: ‘I want to let everyone know that I am doing well and that I am home with my family. As you can imagine, the shock of my heart device deeply affected both me and my family.
‘But I want to reassure everyone by saying that this is a different situation than the one we experienced in 2021. I feel good and my recovery process has already begun.’
He expressed gratitude to teammates, medical staff, and doctors who have overseen his care: ‘Thanks to their expertise, my device did exactly what it was supposed to do: it protected me when I needed it.’
Eriksen added that his immediate focus is on recovery, spending time with his family, and enjoying football with his children during his break.
The Danish Football Association confirmed that Eriksen will continue his rehabilitation under medical supervision and thanked supporters worldwide for their concern and well wishes.
