Trabzonspor Open Door to Onuachu Exit, Confirm Offers from Turkey and Saudi Arabia

Trabzonspor have confirmed that they have received three transfer offers for Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu, including two from Turkish clubs and one from Saudi Arabia.

Trabzonspor vice-president Zeyyat Kafkas revealed the development during a press conference as he discussed the club’s transfer plans and the future of the Nigerian forward.

‘There are offers for Onuachu. We received two offers from Turkey and one from Saudi Arabia,’ Kafkas said.

He added that Trabzonspor would prefer to keep the striker as part of the core of the squad that helped establish the team’s playing identity last season but admitted that the club could consider selling him if a significant offer arrives.

‘If it is not a very large number, Onuachu is also in the skeleton squad that we do not want to spoil. But again, as I said, if a very good offer comes and we decide that we should give it when we put forward all the benefits, we can give it,’ he said.

Kafkas also stressed that no player at the club is completely untouchable in the transfer market.

‘Actually, we don’t have any players who will not be sold. We have a game habit from last year. We don’t want to get too far from that skeleton,’ he added.

Onuachu enjoyed an outstanding campaign for Trabzonspor last season, scoring 22 goals in 30 Süper Lig appearances. His tally saw him share the league’s top-scorer position with Başakşehir forward Eldor Shomurodov.
