Galatasaray President: ‘We Didn’t Buy Osimhen to Sell Him’

Galatasaray President Dursun Ozbek has firmly dismissed speculation linking star striker Victor Osimhen with a move away from the Turkish champions, insisting the Nigerian international is not for sale under any circumstances.

Reports in recent weeks suggested that several leading European clubs, including Atletico Madrid, were keen to secure Osimhen’s signature, with claims of a €150 million bid being tabled.

However, Ozbek reiterated the club’s stance in an interview with Turkish outlet Fotomac, declaring: ‘We didn’t buy Osimhen to sell him. He’s a player who adds great value to Galatasaray and loves Galatasaray very much. We want him to serve Galatasaray for many years to come. Osimhen is also very happy at Galatasaray.’

Osimhen, 27, initially joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli during the 2024/25 season, where he played a pivotal role in helping the Yellow and Reds secure both the Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup.

His impact was undeniable, scoring 26 goals and providing four assists in 30 league appearances.
