Trabzonspor Demand 15% Sell-On Clause as Fulham Close in on Nwaiwu

Nigerian defender Chibuike Nwaiwu is reportedly on the verge of leaving Trabzonspor for Premier League side Fulham, with negotiations between the two clubs said to have entered their final stage.

The 22-year-old centre-back has reportedly reached broad agreement with Fulham, while the English club’s latest official offer to Trabzonspor is believed to be worth €30 million.

Reports from the English and African media claim that the transfer could eventually be completed for €32 million plus bonuses.

The remaining discussions are reportedly focused on the payment structure, instalment terms and the percentage of any future transfer fee that would go to Trabzonspor.

The Turkish club are said to be demanding at least a 15 per cent sell-on clause.

African outlet Afrik-Foot reported that the only major obstacle remaining is Trabzonspor’s official approval of the deal.

If completed, the transfer would represent a remarkable financial return for Trabzonspor.

The Turkish club signed Nwaiwu from Austrian side Wolfsberger AC for €5.5 million in January, meaning they could potentially make almost six times their investment in just seven months.

Nwaiwu made 21 appearances for Trabzonspor, scoring three goals and providing one assist during his time with the club.
