Onuachu’s Advice Helps Convince Durosinmi to Join Genk

Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi has revealed that advice from Super Eagles teammate Paul Onuachu played a key role in convincing him to join Belgian club KRC Genk.

The 23-year-old striker completed his move from Italian side Pisa SC on Thursday, signing a four-year contract that will keep him at the Cegeka Arena until June 2030.

Durosinmi said conversations with Onuachu, who previously enjoyed a prolific spell at Genk, helped convince him about the club and its development structure.

‘I want to be important for the team from day one, score goals and give everything every game. I have spoken with Paul about the club. He told me a lot of nice things about Genk, the supporters and the way the club works with players. I am proud to be a Genkie,’ Durosinmi said.

The Nigerian striker joins Genk after previously impressing with Czech club Viktoria Plzeň, where he scored 35 goals and provided 10 assists in 86 appearances across domestic and European competitions.

Durosinmi has scored 54 goals and provided 17 assists in 150 professional appearances during his career.
