23 Million Sign Petition Against Argentina as Fans Demand FIFA Action

A petition calling for Argentina to be banned from future FIFA World Cups has reportedly attracted more than 23 million signatures following allegations of controversial refereeing decisions during the tournament.

The petition, titled ‘Argentina Out,’ was launched by fans who accused match officials of favouring Argentina in games against Egypt and Algeria.

However, despite the scale of the campaign, FIFA reportedly took no action, with Argentina remaining set to co-host the 2030 World Cup.

Argentine supporters subsequently launched a counter-petition calling for the World Cup final to be replayed over alleged ‘referee corruption.’

The final itself saw Spain dominate possession, while Argentina’s Enzo Fernández was sent off before Ferran Torres scored in extra time to secure victory for Spain.

The rival petitions have added to the controversy surrounding the tournament, with fans on both sides continuing to debate the refereeing decisions and events that shaped Argentina’s campaign.
