Iheanacho’s Late Goal Not Enough as Bursaspor Suffer First Defeat

Kelechi Iheanacho’s late goal was not enough to save Bursaspor as they suffered their first defeat of the new Trendyol 1. Lig season, losing 2-1 to Fatih Karagümrük on Friday night.

Bursaspor had made a perfect start to the campaign with two wins from their opening two matches, but found themselves trailing after just eight minutes when Pesic opened the scoring for the Istanbul side.

Verde doubled Karagümrük’s advantage in the 44th minute, leaving Bursaspor with a difficult task heading into the second half.

Iheanacho gave the visitors hope when he pulled a goal back in the 86th minute, but Bursaspor could not find an equaliser as Karagümrük held on for all three points.

The defeat ended Bursaspor’s two-match winning run, while Fatih Karagümrük moved to six points after three matches.

Bursaspor will look to return to winning ways when they travel to face Kayserispor next week, while Fatih Karagümrük visit Istanbulspor.
