Julian Alvarez Opens Door to Arsenal Move as Atletico Future Turns Sour

Julian Alvarez could be set for a dramatic move to Arsenal after reports claimed the Argentine striker is now open to joining the Premier League club as his relationship with Atletico Madrid continues to deteriorate.
Alvarez has reportedly been pushing for a move away from the Spanish side after publicly expressing his desire to leave during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Barcelona initially identified as his preferred destination.
However, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone and club CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin have insisted they want to keep the former Manchester City forward and reintegrate him into the team.
The 26-year-old is currently training with Simeone’s squad and could feature in Atletico Madrid’s clash with Villarreal, but his future remains uncertain as the summer transfer window enters its final days.
According to reports, Barcelona are unwilling to meet Atletico’s valuation of more than €100 million for Alvarez. That has reportedly opened the door for Arsenal, with the Gunners now emerging as a possible destination for the Argentine.
Spanish outlet Diario AS claims Alvarez’s increasingly strained relationship with Atletico Madrid has forced him to reconsider his options, including a possible return to the Premier League.
Arsenal could now make a late move for the highly-rated forward before the transfer window closes, potentially setting up another major transfer battle involving one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers.
