English Clubs Handed Blockbuster Champions League League-Phase Schedules
The 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league phase has produced a series of blockbuster fixtures for England’s representatives, with Arsenal, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United all facing a mixture of European heavyweights and potentially favourable opponents.
Arsenal have arguably been handed one of the most glamorous schedules, with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich among their headline opponents.
The Gunners will host Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, while travelling to Germany to face Bayern Munich and to Spain for a meeting with Real Betis. Their remaining fixtures are Lille at home, Napoli away, Sabah at home and Slavia Prague away.

They will also welcome Borussia Dortmund and Fenerbahce, while their away fixtures include Club Brugge, Galatasaray and Slavia Prague. Norwegian side Viking are their other home opponent.

Liverpool face a strong Italian and Spanish test, with Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid among their biggest assignments. The Reds will travel to Italy to face Inter before hosting Atletico Madrid. Porto, Club Brugge, Villarreal, Fenerbahce, Lens and LASK complete their league-phase programme.

Manchester City have also been handed an imposing schedule, including home and away clashes with some of Europe’s leading clubs. City will host Paris Saint-Germain and Sporting CP, while travelling to Barcelona and Porto. Napoli will visit the Etihad Stadium, with RB Leipzig, AEK Athens and Lens completing the remaining fixtures.

Manchester United will face Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich in two of the standout fixtures of their campaign. United will travel to Spain to meet Atletico before hosting Bayern Munich. Roma and RB Leipzig will also visit Old Trafford, while Carrick’s side travel to Sporting CP and Villarreal. Sabah and Como complete United’s schedule.
