‘I Am Looking Forward to Seeing Her Again in Two Weeks’: Jefferson-Wooden Eyes Rematch After Narrow Zurich Defeat

Melissa Jefferson-Wooden is already looking forward to another showdown with her Zurich Diamond League rival after finishing second in the women’s 100m in a season’s best 10.70 seconds on Thursday.

The American, who was involved in a thrilling finish, said she expects another quality battle when they meet again in two weeks, while also making it clear that she remains eager to test herself against the best in the event.

‘I am looking forward to seeing her again in two weeks. But not only her, you know, anybody going to go back in, and I want to see what I can put out there,’ Jefferson-Wooden said.

Although she admitted that she does not enjoy losing, the American was pleased with the season’s best and believes she remains in a strong position to produce even bigger performances.

‘I am always happy to see the season’s best. I do not like losing, but you know, it is the name of the game. Obviously, anytime we step to the line, it is going to be a good race. And today, it came down to the wire.

‘But we are still in a really good spot to do some really amazing things. In the end, you cannot be bad with a season’s best at all,’ she added.
