Osimhen Set for Barcelona Return After Groin Injury

Victor Osimhen is expected to make his return from injury when Galatasaray face Barcelona in the Champions League on October 13, according to reports in Turkey.

The Nigerian striker suffered a right-groin injury during Galatasaray’s 3-2 victory over Başakşehir in the fourth week of the Turkish Super League.

Osimhen was forced off in the 33rd minute and subsequently missed Galatasaray’s Champions League clash with Sporting Lisbon.

He will also sit out Sunday’s league fixture against Kocaelispor as he continues his recovery.

Reports had suggested that the 27-year-old could recover in time for Galatasaray’s trip to Trabzonspor on September 19.

However, the club’s technical and medical teams are reportedly unwilling to risk the Nigerian in the potentially demanding fixture.

Instead, Galatasaray are expected to use the upcoming international break to allow Osimhen to complete his recovery.

The striker is also expected to miss Nigeria’s upcoming international commitments because of the injury.
