Chukwueze Undergoes Hip Surgery, Faces Three Months Out
AC Milan Confirm Successful Operation On Nigerian Winger In London

AC Milan have confirmed that Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze has undergone successful surgery in London to repair a ruptured tendon in his left hip, with the player facing an estimated three-month recovery period.
The Italian club announced on Wednesday that the procedure was performed to resolve a rupture of the tendon of the tensor fascia latae muscle of the left hip, an injury that had kept the Nigerian sidelined for several weeks.
‘The surgery, performed by Prof. Ernest Schilders in the presence of Dr Stefano Mazzoni, was perfectly successful. The player will return to Italy as early as today, where he will begin the rehabilitation process,’ Milan stated.
Chukwueze is expected to spend approximately three months recovering from the injury, dealing a major blow to the winger and the Rossoneri.
The 26-year-old had made an encouraging start to the season before the injury disrupted his campaign.
Chukwueze’s absence adds to Milan’s injury concerns, with Matteo Gabbia and Alexis Saelemaekers also facing spells on the sidelines.
Saelemaekers underwent surgery on his right ankle in Amsterdam on October 13, with the club confirming that the procedure, performed by Dr Gino Kerkhoffs, was successful.
Chukwueze will now begin rehabilitation in Italy as he works towards a return to action.
