Buruk Admits Galatasaray Are Missing Osimhen: ‘We Are Looking For Him’

Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk has admitted that his side are missing Victor Osimhen, stressing the Nigerian striker’s importance to their attack after Sunday’s narrow 1-0 victory over Kocaelispor.
Galatasaray created several chances but struggled to turn their dominance into goals, with Buruk acknowledging that Osimhen could have made the difference in the penalty area.
‘Having Osimhen… This is not only in terms of players, but also psychological power to be on the field. Playing with him is different,’ Buruk said after the Turkish Super League victory.
‘If it were today, there were two or three positions that he could have scored very easily. Deniz’s performance was also good. The game with Osimhen, of course, the pressure in the attack, and such a scorer in the penalty area are very important.’
Buruk stressed that Galatasaray remain a strong side without the Nigerian but conceded that they are still looking forward to his return.
‘We are strong with Osimhen. We are strong without Osimhen, we have strong players. We are also looking for Osimhen,’ he added.
‘We played with a lot of pressure, but it is very important to have a finishing striker.’
Galatasaray maintained their leadership with the victory, but Buruk revealed that the club are hoping Osimhen and Lemina can return to training this week ahead of their next league fixture against Trabzonspor.
