Osimhen, Orban Lead Turkish Süper Lig Scoring Race

Victor Osimhen has made another flying start to the Turkish Süper Lig season as he targets a return to the top of the scoring charts, with the Galatasaray striker currently joint-top alongside fellow Nigerian Gift Orban.

Osimhen and Orban have both scored six goals after the opening stages of the 2026/27 campaign, putting the two Nigerians at the summit of the Golden Boot race.

Osimhen’s latest scoring burst comes after two prolific seasons in Turkey.

The Nigerian scored 26 goals in 30 league appearances during the 2024/25 campaign before registering 15 goals in 22 matches’ last season.

However, despite his 15-goal haul in 2025/26, Osimhen was dethroned at the top of the scoring charts by Trabzonspor’s Paul Onuachu and Uzbekistan international Eldor Shomurodov, who both finished the campaign with 22 goals.

Osimhen has now opened the new season with six goals in just four league matches for Galatasaray, putting himself in contention to reclaim the scoring crown.

Orban has matched Osimhen’s tally with six goals for Amed Sportif Faaliyetler, while Dusan Vlahovic of Beşiktaş, Mohamed Salah of Trabzonspor, Shomurodov of Başakşehir, Göztepe’s Juan and Kasimpasa forward Adrian Benedyczak are all on four goals.

Jesus Ramirez and Alexandros Kyziridis of Çorum FK have three goals each.

With the campaign still in its early stages, Osimhen and Orban will be looking to maintain their momentum as they chase Turkish domestic scoring honours.
