Madagascar Arrive Nigeria Ahead of 2027 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier

Madagascar have arrived in Nigeria ahead of their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture, with most of the squad and technical staff now in Uyo.

The Malagasy Football Federation said some members of the delegation travelled for more than 20 hours before arriving safely in Nigeria.

Most of the players and staff reached Uyo on Monday, while some players who are still in Lagos are expected to join the team on Tuesday.

Despite the long journey, the federation said the squad was happy to reunite and has already begun preparations for the qualifying assignment.

A relaxation session was scheduled for Monday evening, led by the team’s mental health coach, as the Malagasy side begins to recover from the rigours of their journey.

Madagascar’s arrival in Uyo signals the start of their final preparations for the qualifier against Nigeria.
