Akor Adams Demands Winning Start Against Madagascar

Super Eagles striker Akor Adams says Nigeria are targeting maximum points from their opening two 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, starting with Friday’s clash against Madagascar in Uyo.

The Venezia forward said the mood in camp is positive, with the players arriving after good starts to their respective club seasons.

‘It’s positive as always, it’s good energy,’ Adams said. ‘Everybody is coming from good pre-season, almost all of the players here started the season well. We are fit and these are the things that are important. We are ready.’

Adams also revealed his personal target for the international window, but stressed that team success comes first.

‘Score goals, help the team to win and give some good support to my teammates as well. Three points all the way. We have two games, six points. That’s a successful camp.’

Nigeria will host Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, September 25, with kick-off scheduled for 5pm Nigerian time.

The Super Eagles will then travel to Guinea-Bissau for their second Group L qualifier on September 29.

Adams also called on Nigerian fans to stay behind the team, urging supporters to remain positive regardless of the result.

‘Be optimistic. Enough with the negativity all around. Football is a game of three sides: we win, we lose or we draw, but we look to win and come out to support us as always.’
