Galatasaray v Kasımpaşa: Osimhen Returns To Squad After 35 Days Out

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has returned to the matchday squad after 35 days out with a groin injury, ahead of the Turkish champions’ Trendyol Süper Lig clash against Kasımpaşa on Friday.
The Nigeria international was named among the substitutes for the seventh-week encounter at RAMS Park, alongside Mario Lemina, who has also recovered from injury.
Both players sustained groin injuries during Galatasaray’s away match against Başakşehir on September 4 and subsequently missed league matches against Kocaelispor and Trabzonspor, as well as the UEFA Champions League fixture against Sporting.
Osimhen and Lemina began the Kasımpaşa match on the bench as Galatasaray looked to maintain their position among the league leaders.
Galatasaray took the lead in first-half stoppage time when Abdülkerim Bardakcı headed home a free-kick from the right wing to make it 1-0.
The goal came after the hosts created several opportunities, with Kasımpaşa goalkeeper Gianniotis making important saves to deny Deniz, Leao and Gabriel Sara.
Kasımpaşa also threatened, but Uğurcan Çakır kept out Benedyczak’s effort in the 32nd minute.
Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk watched from the stands after being suspended following his red card in the previous league match against Trabzonspor.
