FCAAN Congratulates Flamingos Coach Busari, Targets World Cup Glory

The Football Coaches Association of African Nations (FCAAN) has congratulated Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team coach, Busari Hakeem, following the Flamingos’ triumph at the WAFU B Championship in Côte d’Ivoire, expressing confidence that the team can win the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

Nigeria emerged champions of the sub-regional tournament after winning all five matches to secure the maximum 15 points without defeat.

FCAAN founder and president, Dr Terry Eguaoje, praised the team’s performance, attributing its success to preparation, tactical discipline and the winning mentality instilled by Busari.

‘The success recorded in Côte d’Ivoire, where the team did not lose any match and picked the maximum 15 points, is remarkable. It shows the level of preparation, tactical discipline and winning mentality Coach Busari has instilled in the team,’ Eguaoje said.

FCAAN chief executive officer Danny Nazzal also commended the coach’s leadership, describing the championship victory as evidence of his tactical ability and coaching expertise.

‘This victory is a testament to Coach Busari Hakeem’s coaching savvy and leadership quality. He has proven himself as one of the finest youth coaches on the continent,’ Nazzal said.

The association wished the Flamingos success at the forthcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco, expressing hope that the team would surpass Nigeria’s best performance in the competition.

The Flamingos finished third at the 2022 edition in India, Nigeria’s highest placing at the tournament. FCAAN expressed optimism that Busari and his players could go a step further in Morocco and win the world title.
