AC Milan join AS Roma in race for Ola Aina
AC Milan have joined fellow Serie A side, AS Roma in the race to sign Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina in the January transfer window.
Aina, who has been in great form this season and has started all of the eight Premier League games his side has played so far this season will become a free agent in January as his contract will expire next July and AS Roma Live is reporting that the two sides will battle to bring the Nigerian back to Italy.
The 28-year-old made 113 appearances across all competitions for Torino while in Italy, with 102 of the games in the Serie A.
AS Roma Live says, ‘Roma are particularly focused on players whose contracts are expiring on 30 June 2025 or who are on the fringes of the sides they are playing for.’
And Aina topped the list for the player with an expiring contract next summer.
The two clubs believe it will be cheaper to sign the Nigerian because he will either be sold cheap if the Premier League club fails to agree a contract extension with him.
