AC Milan pull out of Chukwueze transfer over €40m price tag

Italian Serie A giants, AC Milan have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Villarreal’s Nigerian winger, Samuel Chukwueze after learning about his €40m
price tag.

The Rossoneri, according to reports in Italy, have been one of the clubs interested in signing the 24-year-old alongside Real Madrid, Arsenal, West Ham,
Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Villarreal has however set a €40m price tag on Chukwueze and the La Liga club’s CEO Roig Negueroles has stated that they will need to make sales this summer
in order to keep their finances in check.

Chukwueze, whose market value has risen from €20m to €25m in the latest transfermarkt update this month scored a personal, single season high 13 goals and
provided 11 assists in a personal record single season 50 appearances in the 2022/23 season.

Six of the goals and five of the assists came in 37 games in the LaLiga for Villarreal with his brace in steering Villarreal to a 3-2 come from behind defeat
of Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu last April.

Chukwueze signed a senior contract with Villarreal in November 2018 and the contract will expire in June 2024.
