AFN Athletes Reprsentative, Dr Okorie among over 400 participants at International Athletes Forum in Lausanne

Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN, athletes representative, Dr Henry Okorie is among over 400 invited participants at the largest gathering of athlete representatives from every sport and across the world at the International Athletes Forum in Lausanne, Switzerland giving an opportunity to discuss in person the issues that are most important to athletes.

The cerebral Dr Okorie is one of the two former/current Nigerian sports star chosen by the NOC Athletes Commission at the forum. Former D’Tigers star, Olumide Oyedeji who also heads the Commission is the other.

The platform is to give athlete representatives from each international federation, NOC, Continental Association and Organising Committee a physical platform to share their voice, so that they can exchange ideas and take solutions back to their respective athlete communities.

The event, driven and hosted by the IOC Athletes’ Commission, is held over three days every two years, bringing together more than 400 athlete representatives to discuss key topics.

Day 1 of the forum will touch on athlete support programmes and focus on giving back while day 2 will focus on the upcoming Olympic Games and a question and answer session with IOC President Bach.

The second day of the Forum will start with a fireside chat between IOC AC member Pau Gasol, Olympic champion skier Lindsey Vonn and track and field Olympic champion Allyson Felix, with the three legends exploring what it means to be an Olympian.
