Ahmed Musa, Chukwueze Out As 18 Super Eagles Arrive Algeria

Sivasspor of Turkey forward Ahmed Musa and Villarreal of Spain winger Samuel Chukwueze are the latest Super Eagles stars to withdraw from the international friendly game against Algeria in Constantine.

Musa fractured his arm in Sivasspor’s league game defeat to Ankaragucu on Sunday.

The Super Eagles captain featured for only 19 minutes in the defeat and was substituted in the clash after sustaining the injury.

The 29-year-old received treatment on the pitch but had to be taken off due to the pain.

In a statement released by the club on Twitter on Monday, Sivasspor stated that it was discovered the former Leicester City winger suffered a fracture in his left arm after examination.

The club further announced that the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner has begun his rehabilitation, but did not reveal how long he would stay out of action.

In the controls made to our football player Ahmed Musa, who was injured in the 19th minute of the match we played against Ankaragucu yesterday (Sunday) in the 7th week of Spor Toto Super League, a fracture was detected in his left arm,’ Sivasspor wrote on the microblogging platform.

It is not clear yet how Chukwueze got injured but a message via the Super Eagles twitter handle indicated he has pulled out of the friendly.

Meanwhile 18 players arrived the Super Eagles camp on Monday evening.

The players are goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, William Troost-Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo, Chigozie Awaziem and Ola Aina

Others are new Ajax defender Calvin Bassey, Zaidu Sanusi, Kevin Akpoguma, Valentine Ozornwafor, Wilfrted Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, Raphael Onyedika, Moses Simon, Taiwo Awoniyi, Chidera Ejuke, Cyriel Dessers and Terem Moffi.

Expected in the early hours of Tuesday are Uzoho, Adeleye Adebayo, Ebube Duru, Godwin Saviour, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ademola Lookman.
