Ahmed Musa Named SWAN Man of the Match in Pillars’ 4-1 Win

Kano Pillars forward Ahmed Musa has been voted the SWAN Man of the Match following his outstanding performance in the club’s 4-1 victory over Doma United in the NPFL on Sunday.

Musa was a constant threat throughout the encounter, using his pace and movement to torment the Doma United defence before putting the finishing touch to his display with Pillars’ third goal.

The former Super Eagles captain struck in the 77th minute to restore Pillars’ two-goal advantage after Doma United had reduced the deficit early in the second half.

Musa’s goal came after Abdullahi Musa had put Kano Pillars ahead in the 19th minute, with Rabiu Ali doubling the advantage in the 32nd minute after earlier missing from the penalty spot.

Doma United pulled one back in the 53rd minute, but Musa’s 77th-minute strike effectively ended their hopes of completing a comeback.

The Kano side added a fourth in the 90th minute through Nasiru Salihu, who had replaced Musa three minutes earlier.

Musa’s performance earned him the recognition from the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), highlighting his influence in a convincing Pillars display that ended Doma United’s perfect start to the season.

The victory also strengthened Kano Pillars’ impressive beginning to the campaign under Daniel Ogunmodede, with the club now having two wins and a draw from three matches and nine goals scored.
