AS Monaco defender becomes Graham Potter's second January signing after Fofana

Chelsea have completed the signing of French defender Benoit Badiashile from AS Monaco.

Chelsea have announced the signing of defender Benoit Badiashile from Monaco.

The 21 year old, left-sided centre-half has signed a seven-and-a-half-year contract with Chelsea.

He is Chelsea head coach Graham Potter’s second January signing following the arrival of David Datro Fofana from Norwegian side Molde.

“I’m very happy to be here at Chelsea,” Badiashile told the official club website.

“I’m so excited to start playing for this club. I can’t wait to see the fans and start playing in the best league in the world.”

“We’re delighted to welcome Benoit to Chelsea,” chairman Todd Boehly said.

“He’s an excellent young player who has quickly established a strong reputation for himself and has a huge amount of experience for his young age.

“We are sure he will form an important part of our team in the years ahead.”
