Chukwueze: Osimhen convinced me to join AC Milan

Nigeria winger Samuel Chukwueze has revealed his Super Eagles teammate, Victor Osimhen was one of the reasons he left Villarreal in Spain for AC Milan in Italy.

Chukwueze officially became an AC Milan player on Thursday after signing a five year deal with the Rosonneri.

The 24 year old revealed he received advice from Napoli hitman Osimhen who told him no to hesitate to sign for the 7-time UEFA Champions League winners.

‘Samuel, Milan is the best club, don’t hesitate to sign for them. They are fantastic, the fans are amazing, they are crazy about football.’

‘He was a major role also in making me sign for AC Milan, as he said I should come to Italy,’ Chukwueze told his new club’s official website.

Chukwueze and Osimhen were in the Nigerian U17 team that won the FIFA World Cup in 2015 in Chile.

He hopes to follow in the footsteps of the Napoli forward whose 26 Serie A goals propelled the Partenopei to their first Scudetto in 33 years and into making history as the first African to finish the league season as top scorer last season.

Chukwueze also admitted in the interview he admits he thought the Milan offer ‘was a joke’ and received advice from Napoli hitman and fellow Nigeria international Victor Osimhen. ‘He said don’t hesitate to sign for them.’
