Drake Bets $1.5m on Argentina in World Cup Final

Canadian rapper Drake has once again made headlines by placing a staggering $1.5 million bet on Argentina to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup final against Spain.

The match is set to take place on July 19 at the New York New Jersey Stadium. Drake, who shared his betting slip on Instagram, wagered at odds of 3.45, meaning a successful outcome would earn him $5,175,000, with a profit of $3,675,000.

The bet is valid only if Argentina secures victory in regular time, excluding extra time and penalties.

Fans quickly reacted online, many humorously suggesting that Drake’s involvement could ‘curse’ Argentina, referencing his history of unlucky wagers.

In 2022, he lost a bet on Argentina versus France because the match went into extra time, despite Argentina ultimately winning the trophy.

The final is expected to be a showcase of football brilliance, with Lionel Messi leading Argentina after scoring eight goals, providing four assists, and earning five Man of the Match awards during the tournament.

Spain’s rising star Lamine Yamal, just 19 years old, has also captured attention with one goal and three Man of the Match performances.
