Erling Haaland will be looking to achieve two Premier League hat-trick feats when Manchester City face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

The 22 year old scored three times in Man City’s 4-2 defeat of the Eagles in their first meeting in August 2022.

Should the Norwegian score another three goals against Patrick Vieira’s men on Saturday, he will become only the second player in Premier League history to score two hat-tricks against an opponent in the same season.

Former Man City striker Emmanuel Adebayor is the only player to have previously achieved the scoring feat when he netted a hat-trick for Arsenal in both home and away fixtures against Derby Country in 2007-08.

Brighton’s exciting forward, Kaoru Mitoma is also on the cusp of history.

If the 25 year old scores against Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday, he will become the highest-scoring Japanese in a Premier League season, with seven goals, supplanting in the process the duo of Shinji Okazaki and Shinji Kagawa who have scored six goals each in a single Premier League campaign.

Also ready to score himself into Premier League history book is Harry Kane. The Tottenham captain is two goals away from being the third player to reach 20+ goals in six different Premier League seasons.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will be looking to set new club record versus Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

If Jurgen Klopp’s men score three times or more versus Gary O’Neil’s side, they will have netted the most times against one opponent in a single season in their top-flight history.

Liverpool have previously scored 11 times across two fixtures in a single campaign on five occasions, most recently doing so versus Ipswich Town in 2001-02.
