FC Midtjylland Re-Signs Friday Etim on Long-Term Deal

FC Midtjylland have confirmed the signing of Nigerian striker Friday Etim from FC Fredericia, bringing the 24-year-old back to the Wolves on a contract that runs until the summer of 2029.

Etim first joined Midtjylland in 2025 from Portuguese side C.D. Mafra, making four appearances before moving to Fredericia in the winter transfer window.

At Fredericia, he established himself as a regular starter in the 3F Superliga, scoring five goals and providing one assist in 14 matches.

Sports Manager Kristian Bach Bak highlighted the club’s confidence in Etim’s potential: ‘We sold Etim to Fredericia when we could see that playing time here was too far away, but we have never doubted the great potential he holds.

‘Over the past six months, he has unfolded that potential, becoming a regular starter and a key part of Fredericia’s strong season. His development looks really exciting.’

Etim himself expressed enthusiasm about returning to Midtjylland: ‘First of all, I really had a good time in Fredericia. I felt welcomed and I got a lot of playing time, which was important for my development. I am moving back to FC Midtjylland, and it is a decision I am really happy about.

‘I take all the experience I have gathered with me, and I am ready to give it fully from day one. Most of all, I look forward to playing for titles and the Europa League. These are the stages I want to be on, and I am ready to contribute to achieving them.’
