Flamingos Eye Bénin Scalp in World Cup Qualifier

Nigeria’s U17 women’s team, the Flamingos, will host Bénin Republic on Saturday in the first leg of the final qualifying round for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, knowing that just two matches stand between them and another appearance on the global stage.

The Flamingos arrive at this decisive stage in commanding form, having dismantled Guinea 11-0 on aggregate in the previous round.

Their performances showcased attacking flair, defensive discipline, and tactical maturity, with captain Harmony Chidi leading the charge by scoring five goals.

She was ably supported by Oluwakemi Adegbuyi, who added three goals and impressed with her creativity, while Queen Joseph’s pace and direct running have made her one of the team’s most exciting outlets.
