Giordano: Osimhen is the new ‘Hedmaster’

Serie A legend says Nigerian is 'best header' in world football

Former Lazio and Napoli striker Bruno Giordano says Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen is the ‘best header’ in the world.

Giordano, who scored 179 times 472 in Italy across all competitions including 116 goals in 258 games for Lazio and 37 times in 109 appearances for Napoli says ‘only Cristiano Ronaldo is on the same level.’

‘Right now, nobody is better than Osimhen in the world. He is the best header of the ball in the world today, only Cristiano Ronaldo is on the same level,’ the Serie A legend told Italy’s news outlet, Il Mattino in his preview of the game between Napoli and Lazio which the former lost.

Interestingly, Osimhen almost scored with his head against Lazio as the 24 year old struck the crossbar in the game.

The Nigerian has scored 14 of the 49 goals he has netted since he joined Napoli from Ligue 1 side, Lille via his head. Five of the headed goals have come in the current 2022/23 season.

Osimhen is Serie A’s leading scorer in 2022-23 season with 19 goals in 21 appearances and has found the net in each of the last eight league games prior to Friday night when Napoli lost at home to Lazio, their first loss at the Maradona stadium since April 2022.
