Iheanacho Puts Celtic Glory Ahead of Contract Talks

Kelechi Iheanacho has brushed aside speculation about his future at Celtic, insisting his sole focus is on Saturday’s Scottish Premiership title decider against Hearts at a sold-out Celtic Park.

The Nigerian striker, who joined the Hoops on a free transfer last summer under Brendan Rodgers, has been instrumental in the run-in.

His goals against Kilmarnock, Dundee, Hibernian, and Motherwell have delivered 12 crucial points, keeping Celtic on course for the championship.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Iheanacho emphasized the importance of the fans: ‘I think the fans have been a very, very massive part of this season, so we’ll need them one more time this season at Celtic Park to cheer us on, and they’ve been doing that all season, so they’ll be massive on Saturday.’

Iheanacho signed an initial one-year deal with an option for extension, but when pressed about his long-term future, the 29-year-old was clear: ‘I think after 90 minutes on Saturday, then we’ll talk about that.’
