It’s going to be the gold this time for Ricketts at Tokyo Worlds in September
It will be a case of the gold this time at the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships for Jamaican, Shanieka Ricketts who holds a pair of silver medals in previous Championships and was able to fulfil a lifelong dream of making the podium at the Olympics achieved at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The – year old, according to Sportsmax.tv is ‘eyeing up a big 2025 hopefully culminating in gold at the Tokyo World Championships later this year.’
‘In 2025, I’m looking for more consistency. I’m definitely putting in the work. Training has been going really well so the sky is the limit,’ said the triple jumper who was named Jamaica’s Sportswoman of the Year for the first time in her career.
On her medal winning feat at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Ricketts was ecstatic a lifelong dream has been fulfilled.
‘It’s basically a dream come true. It’s something that has eluded me in my career for a very long time. There were times I felt like giving up but, I just kept in mind that it’s possible, kept working towards it and, to finally have that dream realized, I’m living the dream,’ she told Sportsmax.tv.
