Iwobi targets first goal in seven games vs Bournemouth

Set to make 15th start in 15 Premier League games this season

Alex Iwobi will be gunning for his 15th start in 15 Premier League games this season when he visits the Vitality stadium Saturday with Everton for their matchweek 16 league clash against Bournemouth.

It will also be the Nigerian’s 30th start in 30 Premier League games in 2022.

The 26 year old started all 15 games he featured in under Frank Lampard in the second half of last season and will equal his best starting run in the competition if he starts on Saturday.

He will also be aiming to feature in his 198th Premier League game since he made his debut in Octobe 2015.

If he scores, he will equal his season’s best total for Everton (two goals) and stand alone as the 10th top scoring Nigerian in Premier League history, a position he is currently sharing with Odion Ighalo.

And if he bags an assist in the game which will be his sixth of the season and 26th in 198 games, he will move joint second with Yakubu Aiyegbeni in the Nigerian all-time assist list in the Premier League.

Iwobi will also be seeking his first goal in seven Premier League appearances against Bournemouth albeit he bagged an assist when his former club, Arsenal lost 2-1 at the Vitality stadium in January 2018.
