Leboeuf Backs Norway to Shock England 1-0 in 2026 FIFA World Cup Quarter-Final Clash

Former World Cup winner Frank Leboeuf has predicted that Norway will defeat England 1-0 when the two nations meet in their 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final clash.
Norway have been one of the surprise packages of the tournament, reaching the knockout stages of the World Cup for the first time in 28 years before producing a historic run that saw them eliminate Brazil in the round of 16.
The Scandinavian side suffered only one defeat in the group stage, losing to France, and have continued to make history with their first-ever knockout victories at a World Cup.
Much of Norway’s success has been driven by striker Erling Haaland, who has delivered a standout tournament performance with seven goals so far, including two in the memorable victory over Brazil.
England, however, enter the quarter-final unbeaten and remain one of the tournament favourites.
The Three Lions have historically enjoyed the upper hand against Norway, winning seven of their 12 previous meetings, including a 1-0 friendly victory in their last encounter in 2014.
Despite Norway’s impressive campaign, head coach Ståle Solbakken acknowledged England’s status as favourites but believes the pressure will be greater on Thomas Tuchel’s side.
Haaland echoed his manager’s comments, insisting England are among the teams expected to go far in the competition and suggesting that the spotlight and expectations should remain on the Three Lions.
The winner of the quarter-final will advance to the semi-finals, where they will face either Argentina or Switzerland as the race for World Cup glory continues.
