Leicester Vs Blackburn: Iheanacho seeking to be Foxes hero for third FA Cup game in a row

Kelechi Iheanacho will be seeking to be the hero for Leicester City again when they face Blackburn Rovers in the fifth round of the FA Cup Tuesday at the King Power stadium.

The Nigerian scored the winner in both the third and fourth rounds of this season’s competition and looks to be repeating the Foxes’ title-winning 2020/21 season when he scored four times in six games.

Nigeria 26 year old has scored more FA Cup goals than any other player currently playing in the competition. Since his debut in January 2016 when he scored in his club at the time,Man City’s 3-0 defeat of Norwich at Carrow Road, his 17 FA Cup goals are the most of any player.

The Foxes who have progressed from each of their last three FA Cup fifth round ties, all on home soil and all 1-0 wins versus Sheffield United (2018), Birmingham (2020) and Brighton (2021) will now be banking on their Nigerian import to deliver the goals again.

This is the first FA Cup encounter between Leicester City and Blackburn Rovers since the 2004-04 quarter-final and the first game Iheanacho will be playing against the visitors.
