Lookman hails Raya, says game Vs Arsenal was ‘a balanced match’
Ademola Lookman has reflected on Atalanta’s draw with Arsenal in their opening group phase of the 2024/24 UEFA Champions League hailed Gunners’ goalkeeper, David Raya for his incredible double save.
Raya first saved Mateo Retegui’s penalty before launching himself to his left to keep out the Argentine-born Italy striker for the second time in a matter of seconds.
‘It was an incredible double save by Raya. Incredible,’ submits Lookman who netted a hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen in May’s Europa final via the UEFA website.
‘We take it game by game. It’s the first (group-stage match), so we’ll see. It was a balanced match,’ said the Nigerian.
Lookman believes they matched the Gunners in every aspect of the game.
‘It was kind of a chess match to be honest. Obviously, they [Arsenal] are a top team, but we matched them which was good. We’ll take the draw and onto the next,’ he said.
