Maikaba, Uwejamomere Pick Assistants as U20, U17 Boys Resume Camp

Newly appointed Head Coach of Nigeria’s U20 men’s national team, Abdu Maikaba, has unveiled his technical crew as preparations begin for the Flying Eagles’ next campaign.
On Thursday, Maikaba announced Coaches Ortega Deniran as first assistant, Abdullahi Biffo as second assistant, and Usman Mohammed as goalkeepers’ trainer.
The Flying Eagles will resume camp in Abuja on Sunday, 17th May, ahead of the WAFU B U20 Boys Championship scheduled for July.
The tournament will serve as qualifiers for next year’s Africa U20 Cup of Nations. Nigeria, a seven-time winner of the continental competition, will be aiming to secure another title.
Maikaba, who previously served as assistant coach of the Flying Eagles when they finished as two-time FIFA World Cup silver-medallists, also boasts experience managing several of Nigeria’s top clubs.
He expressed confidence in building a squad that ‘will make Nigeria proud.’
Similarly, newly-appointed Head Coach of the U17 boys, Eboboritse Uwejamomere, has named his assistants. Olumide Joseph Ajibolade will serve as first assistant, Mohammed Kalli Kachala as second assistant, while Abdullahi Isa takes charge as goalkeepers’ trainer.
The Golden Eaglets will begin preparations for the WAFU B U17 Boys Championship in September, which doubles as qualifiers for the Africa U17 Cup of Nations.
Uwejamomere emphasized his ambition to not only return Nigeria to the FIFA U17 World Cup finals but also to ‘work assiduously towards a sixth global title.’
