MoC Academy Athletes Shine at MTN CHAMPS Season 4 Grand Final

MoC Athletics Academy athletes capped off their 2026 MTN CHAMPS campaign in style, winning 13 medals, 7 GOLD, 3 Silver, and 3 Bronze, at the Season 4 Grand Final held at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.

This strong finish added to their earlier successes in Calabar (22 medals) and Jos (28 medals), bringing their total haul across the season to 63 medals (25 GOLD, 25 Silver, 13 Bronze).

The tally surpassed their 38 medals from Season 3, highlighting the team’s steady progression.

Miracle Donald claimed her first individual GOLD of the season in the women’s 400m, clocking 54.07s in the final.

Ezekiel Asuquo followed with GOLD in the men’s 400m (46.60s) and Silver in the 200m. Other senior athletes like Benjamin Magaji, Stephen Adejumo, Showers Ushie, and Emmanuel Obi also impressed with strong performances and personal bests.

Lucy Nwankwo stood out with a PB of 11.46s in the 100m semis before clinching Bronze in the final.

Alvin Onyeama and Emmanuel Akolo both delivered lifetime bests in the sprints, while Destiny Reuben and Kehinde Seriki also recorded personal milestones. The junior women’s 4x100m relay team struck GOLD in 46.53s, while the men’s team secured Bronze.

Fervent Edet dominated his category, winning double GOLD in the 100m and 200m with lifetime bests. Rebecca Enilolobo claimed Silver in the 100m, while debutant Nneoma Okonkwo and Chizoba Onyemauwa showed promise in multiple events.

Relays added more sparkle to the campaign. The junior mixed 4x400m team stormed to GOLD in 3:31.15s, while the senior mixed team also clinched GOLD in 3:26.69s.

Team MTN B secured Silver in the mixed 4x100m relay.
