‘Na Your Fight!’ SuperSport Brings Dricus Vs Kamaru Usman UFC Showdown to Nigerian Fans in Pidgin

SuperSport is set to bring one of the biggest African matchups in UFC history to fans across the continent this weekend, with the highly anticipated showdown between Nigeria’s Kamaru ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ Usman and South Africa’s Dricus ‘Stillknocks’ du Plessis available with commentary in English, Afrikaans and Pidgin.

The Pidgin commentary option will give Nigerian viewers the opportunity to follow the major UFC contest in a language familiar to them, as two of Africa’s most accomplished mixed martial artists meet inside the Octagon at the Paycom Centre in Oklahoma City.

The fight represents more than a contest between two former world champions. It is a meeting between two of Africa’s biggest sporting stars and a continuation of the fierce sporting rivalry between Nigeria and South Africa.

For decades, sporting contests between the two countries have produced unforgettable moments and passionate debate.

This weekend, that rivalry moves into mixed martial arts, with du Plessis and Usman battling for national pride, redemption and another opportunity to challenge for UFC gold.

Du Plessis, who holds a 23-3 MMA record and is 9-1 in the UFC, returns to action after an 11-month absence.

The South African is looking to revive his pursuit of the middleweight title after losing the championship to Khamzat Chimaev.

Standing in his way is Usman, who has a 21-4 MMA record and a 16-3 UFC record. Widely regarded as one of the greatest welterweight champions in UFC history, the Nigerian is now making a permanent move to the middleweight division.

A victory would give Usman the opportunity to establish himself as an immediate contender in a second weight class, while also adding another major chapter to his remarkable career.

Coverage begins with the Preliminary Card on SS Action, DStv Channel 206 and GOtv Channel 66, from 10:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Main Card will follow from 1:00 a.m. on Sunday on SS Grandstand, DStv Channel 201, and SS Action, DStv Channel 206 and GOtv Channel 66.

The eagerly anticipated main event between du Plessis and Usman is expected to begin at approximately 3:15 a.m.
