Napoli coach: Osimhen’s slowly rediscovering his form

Napoli coach, Francesco Calzona says star forward, Victor Osimhen is gradually rediscovering his goalscoring form after the Nigerian scored thrice in
Napoli’s 6-1 win at Sassuolo in a matchweek 27 Serie A clash.

‘Victor is returning to his levels. Clearly, he wasn’t in great shape after the Africa Cup of Nations, he was away for over a month and is slowly
rediscovering his form,’ said Calzona.

Osimhen has now scored five goals in the three games he has featured in since he returned from AFCON 2023 in Cote d’Ivoire.

He has now scored 61 goals in 98 Serie A games and his hattrick was his second since he arrived Italy in September 2020 from Lique 1 side, Lille.

He has also scored 10+ goals in each of the four seasons he has been in the Serie A.
