Nasarawa United Set for President Federation’s Cup Clash Against Westgate FC

Nasarawa United will face Edo-based Westgate FC in the Round of 64 of the 2026 President Federation’s Cup.

The fixture, scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, will take place at the Prince Abubakar Audu Stadium in Anyigba, Kogi State, with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m.

According to the draw released by the Nigeria Football Federation, the Solid Miners will square up against the unfamiliar opponents as they seek to advance to the Round of 32.

The winners of this tie will meet either Sporting Supreme FC of Abuja or Ejigbo City FC of Osun State in the next stage of the competition.

Nasarawa United, twice runners-up in the prestigious knockout tournament, losing to the defunct FC Ifeanyi Ubah in Lagos in 2016 and Bayelsa United in Benin City in 2021, exited at the quarter-final stage last year after a penalty shootout defeat to Abakaliki United of Ebonyi State.

Under the guidance of Coach Mangut Mbwas, the Solid Miners secured their place in this year’s national competition by winning the Nasarawa State version of the President Federation’s Cup.

They defeated city rivals FC Basira 1-0 in the final to retain the title and claim one of the two available tickets.
