Nice Confirm Terem Moffi Set for Permanent Summer Exit

French Ligue 1 club Nice have confirmed that Nigerian striker Terem Moffi is expected to leave the club on a permanent transfer before the close of the summer transfer window.

Nice sporting director Roger Ricort said the Super Eagles forward is among the players the club intends to move on as preparations continue for the 2026/27 season.

Moffi spent the second half of the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Portuguese giants FC Porto after falling down the pecking order at Nice.

Porto, however, declined to exercise the €8 million purchase option included in the loan agreement, resulting in the 27-year-old’s return to the French club.

Although Moffi has resumed pre-season training with Nice, Ricort made it clear that the club expects him to complete a permanent move in the coming weeks.

“He is on the list of players we want to leave. He will surely be transferred elsewhere,” Ricort said.

“We don’t necessarily respect the man but we will respect the player. At the moment, he knows he won’t be able to play for Nice anymore either.

“I think that would show a lack of respect to our supporters, but so long as he is here, we will try and be proper with him and his agents. When he finds a club, we will shake hands and wish each other good luck.”

Moffi reportedly sought to leave Nice after an incident involving angry supporters following the club’s defeat to Lorient last November, a development that accelerated his loan move to Porto during the second half of the season.
