Barcelona Push to Complete Karim Adeyemi Signing from Borussia Dortmund

Barcelona have moved a step closer to signing Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi after reaching an agreement on personal terms with the Germany international, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Spanish champions are now in negotiations with Borussia Dortmund to finalize a transfer fee after submitting an official offer for the 24-year-old, who is under contract with the Bundesliga club until June 2027.
Romano reported on Thursday that Adeyemi has informed Dortmund of his desire to join Barcelona and is not considering signing a contract extension with the German club.
“Karim Adeyemi agreed terms with Barcelona and informed BVB he only wants Barça move,” Romano wrote on social media.
He added that Barcelona have submitted an official bid as they work to complete the transfer during the current transfer window.
Adeyemi is expected to bolster Barcelona’s attacking options as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season. The move follows the club’s efforts to reinforce the wide areas after reportedly completing the signing of Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon.
The German forward endured an inconsistent campaign with Borussia Dortmund, seeing his playing time reduced during the latter stages of the season. His limited role also contributed to his omission from Germany’s squad for the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is understood to be a long-time admirer of Adeyemi, having handed the winger his senior Germany debut in 2021 and included him in the squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Flick’s admiration for the player is believed to have played a significant role in Barcelona’s pursuit.
