Nigeria 3-2 Tunisia: Lookman Named Man of the Match

Ademola Lookman was once again the difference maker for Nigeria, earning the Man of the Match award after delivering a goal and two assists in the Super Eagles’ AFCON 2025 3-2 defeat of he Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in Fes, Morocco on Saturday night.

The Atalanta forward has now scored five goals and provided two assists in just nine Africa Cup of Nations appearances, underlining his growing reputation as one of the continent’s most decisive attackers.

Lookman’s AFCON journey began only last year, when he made his debut in Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea.

On that occasion, he immediately announced himself by setting up Victor Osimhen’s equaliser just two minutes after the opposition had taken the lead.

Fittingly, both of Lookman’s assists in the competition so far have been for Osimhen, highlighting a partnership that continues to flourish on the biggest stage.

With his latest performance, Lookman has shown he can score, create, and inspire, a complete forward whose influence is growing with every match.

Nigeria’s attack looks increasingly dangerous with him pulling the strings, and his chemistry with Osimhen is proving to be one of the Super Eagles’ most potent weapons.
